Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — when you create an account we collect your email address, a username and display name, and (optionally) a profile picture.
• Content you create — quizzes, questions and cover images you build, and the threads, replies and reports you post in the community forum.
• Gameplay information — the quizzes you play and your scores, accuracy and completion times. For signed-in users these may appear on public leaderboards; plays by signed-out guests are not recorded to leaderboards.
• Multiplayer information — when you join a live game, the display name, answers and scores you submit are visible to other players in that game.
• Technical and usage data — your IP address, browser and device type, and basic activity logs. We use IP addresses for security and to rate-limit abuse.
• Cookies and local storage — used to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme preference, and (with your consent where required) to show ads. See "Cookies and advertising" below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• operate and provide the Service — accounts, quiz creation and play, leaderboards and the community forum;
• keep the Service secure — prevent abuse, enforce our rules, and support moderation through rate-limiting and audit logs;
• display and measure advertising;
• communicate with you about your account and important changes; and
• understand usage so we can improve the Service.

Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and are required for the Service to work. A preference stored in your browser remembers your theme choice.

We also use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including, where permitted, ads personalised based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Where consent is required (see below), personalised advertising is used only if you agree to it.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a Google-certified consent message before using non-essential cookies for personalised advertising, and you can change your choices at any time through that message.

Service providers we use

We rely on trusted providers to run the Service. They process information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage for your account data and content.
• Netlify — website hosting and content delivery.
• Google — advertising (AdSense) and consent management.

Information that is public

Some information is shared publicly by design:

• quizzes you publish, including their titles, questions and cover images;
• your public profile — username, display name and profile picture;
• your leaderboard rankings (for signed-in plays); and
• threads and replies you post in the community forum.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in content you publish.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can edit your profile in your account settings, and you can contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data. We may retain limited information where necessary for security, to resolve disputes, or to meet legal obligations.

Security

We protect your information using measures such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and reputable hosting providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in your account settings, or by contacting us at privacy@benabhub.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account, and the Service is not directed to children under that age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at privacy@benabhub.com and we will take steps to delete it.

International data transfers

Our providers may store and process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be highlighted within the Service.
